Why am I in this place?
Wallowing in self pity
I revel in a broken heart,
Worn on my sleeve, my red badge of courage.
Seeking acceptance, comfort, empathy, solace, understanding, and Warmth.
Refuge from the cold , dark place in which I dwell,
About which I stagger,
Immersed in a sorrowful mist
My candle dimmed.
I know it is not right
Wars rage
Suffering overwhelms whole peoples
Disease plucks loved ones from our grasp
Rape, Murder, Plunder,
Human cruelty assaults us each moment.
And yet, I wallow.
Mourning rejection and lonliness
Mourning lost perspective
Indulging myself and my pain
Useless
Unreliable
Oxygen theif.
But Jesus died for me.
Jesus died for me.
Jesus died for me.
And I can hear Him whisper
"You are here in this place and time.
You are blessed with the power to change the world.
You are here in My image.
You have gifts that are needed.
End your wallowing, cease your pity.
Lift your eyes.
Re-light your candle.
Be a force for good.
Do the most loving thing, always."
